On March 8th (International Women’s Day), Village Theatre is proud to present Juno Award Winner, Lorraine Klaasen accompanied by Mongezi Ntakam live in concert.

The theme of the concert will be Township Memories with music penned by Busi Mhlongo, in the traditional South African Maskanda musical style. The Music filled with form of expression, with Agony,the Ecstasy, the Pain and Sorrow,the Trials and Ironies of Life in the Modern South Africa.

Every day is International Women’s Day for singer Lorraine Klaasen

Singer Lorraine Klaasen is coming to the Hudson Village Theatre with her show Township Memories, March 8, which just happens to be International Women’s Day. The singer who was born and raised in Soweto, South Africa and who now calls Canada home, pays tribute to her mother, the late jazz singer Thandie Klaasen, while tracing the particularities of Township music — a fusion of marabi, American jazz and Zulu music.
