Hilarity, Familiarity and Fun
A Comedy By Norm Foster
Directed by Dean Patrick Fleming
The hilarious, hit new play by Canada’s most popular playwright, Norm Foster. Two retirees search for friendship, love, sex and elusive happiness in an assisted living home. We follow the shenanigans of Jonas and Barry in a laugh-a-minute journey as they search for clever ways to spice up their lives and the lives of those around them. This side-splittingly funny and poignant story will bring tears of joy and compassion, as Jonas and Barry win your hearts.
The play opened to a sold-out audience at Theatre Orangeville in 2015. In August, 2016, Lighthouse Theatre Festival remounted the show…and the entire run was sold out before the show even opened. The show then ran at Upper Canada Playhouse in Morrisburg, where it again sold out houses. I saw it on its final night and the crowd jumped to their feet the minute the lights went down and gave three curtain calls. To call it a popular crowd-pleaser would be an understatement.
Our production will be the Quebec premiere.
